Best hotels with canal views in Venice

In this post, I’ll share a list of some of the best canal view hotels in Venice that have 4 and 5 stars, from where you can easily reach the main attractions of the city or ride a gondola and navigate the romantic canals.

Is it worth finding a canal view hotel in Venice?

Since the canals are one of the symbols of this city, staying in a canal view hotel in Venice is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I highly recommend taking into consideration for the reasons you can read below.

  • The best canal view hotels in Venice are mostly old Gothic palaces turned into places to spend a wonderful stay. In the Serenissima Republic era, the noblemen’s residences that were overlooking a canal (in particular if was the Grand Canal) were a sign of prestige and wealth. Today by staying in one of these palaces you would still experience their timeless charm.
  • The hotels overlooking canals offer the most stunning views of the city. They often have a rooftop terrace with restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy a 360° view of the city whilst having a meal or sipping a cocktail.
  • Since many hotels overlooking the Grand Canal are 4 and 5 stars hotels, you can stay reassured that the level of service and facilities is high.

Now you should have a better idea why choosing a canal view hotel in Venice can actually make your holiday, one that you’ll never forget.
