Welcome to Venice Travel Tips and to my 1.5 day itinerary eBook.
As a local who visits the city regularly, I know it can take a long time to discover and appreciate Venice’s rich artistic, architectural and cultural heritage.
I’ve said it many times and I will say it again, not even a month is enough to explore the city and get to know it in its entirety, despite being a relatively small city.
Venice actually has the highest density of attractions per square metre in the world.
I’m well aware of the high number of travellers who have little time to fully appreciate their visit to Venice, and who also feel somewhat overwhelmed by the quantity of things to see and do which they then try to somehow fit into their tight schedule.
1.5 day Venice itinerary
With this in mind, I’d like to present you with a solution. Below you can find more about my 1.5 day itinerary eBook and how it will help you plan your trip to Venice!
Firstly, imagine this (unless you’re in this exact situation!)… You’ve booked your flights and accommodation in Venice months in advance and now the big moment is around the corner: it will be just a matter of days before you’ll arrive in Venice!
It’s time to think about how you’ll spend your time in Venice and all the incredible things to see and do. But wait a minute… You only have one day and a half?!
How can you fit everything you want to see in such a limited time?
Start doing the maths by subtracting the actual time you need to:
- get off the plane;
- go through immigration;
- get transportation to Venice;
- reach your accommodation (and check in);
- then… do the same again for the return!
The time you have left for pure sightseeing is literally only 1 day and a half.
That will leave you with no where near enough time to see much of anything. But still, it is possible to fit in the BEST OF VENICE and you’ll find out how in this eBook.
First things first though, allow me to formally introduce myself so you can see for yourself why and how I can help you with planning your next trip to Venice.
Who am I?
My name is Maddy and I’m the face (and hand) behind Venice Travel Tips, a travel blog all about travelling to Venice and the Veneto region in Northern Italy.
If you’ve read my about page you’ll know that Venice holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Venice countless times since I was a little girl.
My hometown, Castelfranco Veneto, is only 45 minutes by train away from Venice and over the years I would keep travelling back and forth, getting to know the city.
My goal was always to learn more about the city on a deeper level by hanging out in neighbourhoods and places mostly frequented by locals (and locals only).
Even though now I live abroad, I travel to Venice on a regular basis because I’m still in love with the city, its people and of course the exquisite Venetian cuisine as well!
What things will I personally never get tired of in Venice?
- Exploring new corners of the city
- Trying new restaurants
- A nice plate of cicchetti at the bacaro
- Ordering a glass of Venetian Spritz
Why did I decide to create this Venice 1.5 day itinerary?
With many visitors feeling overwhelmed by what’s on offer, I created this 1.5 day itinerary eBook for travellers with very limited time to spend in Venice in mind.
Venice is on the bucket list of many travellers but, whether it’s for personal choice or ‘force majeure’, not everybody has enough time available to visit it properly.
Oftentimes Venice is merely an pit stop on an itinerary which that means there are other cities in the country to visit and thus limited time to spend in each location.
With this guide, I’ve worked to create you a detailed guide (with a schedule) that includes all the attractions and places worth visiting and that you can fit in 1.5 days.
Who is this Venice 1.5 day itinerary for?
- Travellers with a very limited time to spend in Venice (around 1.5 days excluding transportation from/to the airport).
- It’s also good for travellers spending 2 days in Venice who can also spread the itinerary out and take it a bit slower.
- First-time visitors to Venice or those that haven’t visited Venice in years.
- Travellers that have Venice as a stop on an Italy road/train trip.
- Travellers that don’t have time to look out for the information they need such as opening times, ticket prices and transportation options from/to the airport (Venice Marco Polo or Treviso) or simply don’t like doing it.
On top of that, I share my experience and advice as a local with lists of authentic eateries (that the average tourist doesn’t usually find) and other resources that will save you time and money during the planning stage of this trip and whilst in Venice.
This means that from the very moment you step foot in Venice you will have the exact instructions on where to go and know how long to spend in each place. There will be no second guessing yourself and you will be able to explore with a purpose.
