Venice 3 Star Hotel FAQ Guide

Here are questions people ask when it comes to booking a 3 star hotel in Venice.

What is the nicest area of Venice?

There’s no easy answer to this – the city is beautiful all around. Let’s say that the neighbourhoods of San Marco, Dorsoduro and San Polo are the most beautiful ones, close to the main attractions such as the Grand Canal, St. Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge. Check this selection of hotels with canal view I carefully selected and based in the best areas of the city.

How many days do you need in Venice?

Ideally you should spend between 3 or 4 days in Venice. The city is not that big and you can move almost everywhere on foot, but the amount of things to do is astonishing. So my suggestion is to take your time and visit its attractions without rushing from one place to the other. This way, you can also plan a half day trip or day trip to other islands of the Venetian lagoon or in the Veneto region. Find inspiration on my post of the best day trips from Venice and day trips from Venice by train.

What is the best month to go to Venice?

The best months to travel to Venice are April, May, June in spring and the September and early October in autumn. Travelling during these months you’ll find fewer tourists around the streets and visiting the top attractions, flights and accommodation prices are less expensive and weather conditions optimal to explore Venice. To learn more about what’s going on every month of the year, check out my post about the best time to visit Venice.

What's Venice like at Christmas?

Venice at Christmas is decorated with festive lights and you can breathe a magical atmosphere all around the city. Canals, bridges and streets are illuminated and you can find some Christmas market stalls in Campo Santo Stefano. There’s also a large skating rink in Campo San Polo if you like the idea of going ice-skating and around mid-December you can watch Santa Claus arriving on a gondola on the Grand Canal!
