If you have any specific questions about what to pack, or need to clarify anything specific about your trip, you can email me here for more personalised advice.

Now let’s get into this list.

What to Wear (By Season & Situation)

Depending on what the time of year you’re in Venice, the weather can be unpredictable, so here’s what to pack for each season and situation.

Summer (Jun–Aug)

  • Lightweight, breathable clothes (100% cotton/linen)
  • Comfortable sandals or canvas sneakers (no flip-flops in historic centre)
  • Wide-brimmed hat, UV‑rated sunglasses
  • Evening layer: light cardigan or denim jacket

Spring & Autumn (Mar–May, Sep–Nov)

Winter (Dec–Feb)

I have also written a more concise post on what to wear in Venice which also answers some popular questions around the dress code rules in Venice.
