Venice looks super simple on a map.
A little fish-shaped island, a handful of famous sights, a few days and you’re done.
Then you actually start planning, and it all gets a bit more complicated.
Where should I stay: Cannaregio or Dorsoduro, or is San Marco fine? How many days do I need? Is a vaporetto pass worth it, or am I better off with single tickets?
Then you start to wonder: Which attractions do I need to book in advance, and which ones can I just turn up to? Should I go to Murano and Burano, and can I do both in one day without hating my life? And the question almost everyone eventually asks me: am I trying to fit far too much into this itinerary?

Firstly… Don’t worry! I’ve written hundreds of blog posts to answer exactly these questions, and I’ll keep writing them. But here’s the thing I’ve noticed after years of doing this: an article can tell you how the water buses work.
It can’t tell you whether the pass makes sense for your particular four days in November with two kids and a hotel in Santa Croce.
Sometimes you don’t need more information. You need to ask someone that’s been planning trips for years. That’s why I created the Venice Planning Club.
So, what is the Venice Planning Club?
The Venice Planning Club is a small membership for travellers who want a bit more confidence and a bit more personal guidance while they plan their trip to Venice.
It’s not a rigid itinerary, and it won’t be me telling you exactly what to do. I don’t think that’s how good trips are made. It’s a space where you can bring your own questions, talk them through with someone who actually knows the city, and hear what other people planning their Venice trips are struggling with too.
Think of it as having a Venice-savvy friend in your corner while you plan: someone you can ask, “Is this itinerary mad?” before you book anything, rather than after.
It costs $15 a month. You can join months before your trip and keep being part of the community to connect with other travellers and keep planning your next trip.

What you get as a member
Here’s what’s included:
- A monthly small-group planning call (45 minutes) where you can ask me your Venice questions directly and I’ll answer them properly, not in a two-line comment reply.
- Priority question submissions: send me your questions before the call so I can look at your dates, your neighbourhood, and your itinerary and come prepared.
- Replays of every session, so if you’re in a tricky time zone or something comes up, you never miss out.
- A members-only Q&A space between calls for the smaller things: the “is this restaurant any good?” and “my train gets in at 11pm, now what?” questions.
- Help with the specific Venice dilemmas that articles struggle with: transport, which sestiere to base yourself in, how to spread out the islands, what to book and what to skip.
- Fresh ideas beyond the obvious checklist: the quieter corners, the artisan workshops, and the bacari I actually send my own friends to.
- The chance to learn from other travellers’ questions. Honestly, this is my favourite part. People turn up planning one kind of trip and leave with three ideas they’d never have thought to search for.

- You’ve already booked the flights and the hotel, and now you have a very long list of unanswered questions.
- You’re staring at a half-built itinerary and can’t tell if it’s realistic.
- You’re worried about making expensive mistakes: the wrong pass, the wrong area, the wrong day for Burano.
- You’ve been to Venice before and want to do something different this time than the first visit.
- You’d simply rather ask a question and get an answer than spend another three evenings cross-referencing strangers’ opinions on the internet.

Why I created it
After years of running Venice Travel Tips, I noticed the same pattern in my inbox and DMs. People weren’t short of information. They were short of confidence.
They’d read the articles, watched the videos, saved my reels, and were somehow more unsure than when they started, because they were inundated with my information.
What they actually wanted was for someone who knows Venice to look at their trip and say, ‘Yes, that works. Or: I’d move that day around, and here’s why.
That’s always been the point of Venice Travel Tips: helping people visit Venice thoughtfully, slowly, and in a way that’s good for the city as well as good for them. The club is just the version of that where I get to answer you directly.
